From the time Nebraska’s 1st District was founded in 1883, twenty-two people have served this area in the House of Representatives.

Two in a row were named William. Four were named John. (Nearly 20 percent!)

But oddly enough, none have been women.

As your first congresswoman, I will fight for women in the workplace, women experiencing domestic violence, women who can’t afford childcare, women in the Armed Services, and women everywhere to stand up for the fundamental equality of every human being.
