From the time Nebraska’s 1st District was founded in 1883, twenty-two people have served this area in the House of Representatives.

Two in a row were named William. Four were named John. (Nearly 20 percent!)

But oddly enough, none have been women.

I'm Kate Bolz, and I’m running to change that.

Eight-term incumbent Jeff Fortenberry voted NO on the Violence Against Women Act, NO on the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and NO on whether to even discuss the Equal Rights Amendment.

Listen, it’s time to put a hardworking leader in charge who understands YOUR priorities.

As your first congresswoman, I will fight for women in the workplace, women experiencing domestic violence, women who can’t afford childcare, women in the Armed Services, and women everywhere to stand up for the fundamental equality of every human being.
