John, next year could be President Trump’s last full year in office.
Renew your 2020 EDF membership during our September Membership Month to serve up more defeats and losses for his anti-environmental agenda next year.

We’re expecting a surge in attacks next year from Trump appointees, like EPA Chief Wheeler, who will furiously try to accomplish as much as they can before their time is up.

That’s why, although it’s only September, we’re already hard at work on our strategic plan to continue protecting and defending our environment against the biggest Trump administration threats, including:
  • Defeating Trump’s watered-down “replacement” for the historic Clean Power Plan — a fossil fuel industry giveaway with NO pollution limits, NO deadlines, and NO enforcement power.
  • Fighting for America’s wildly successful Clean Car fuel standards, targeted for repeal by the Trump administration despite the program’s success at not only making our air cleaner, but saving us money at the pump, too.
  • Defending a 2016 EPA rule limiting oil & gas industry methane emissions — just the latest part of President Obama’s climate legacy to come under attack by the Trump administration.
  • Opposing sweeping changes to the Endangered Species Act that would make it harder to protect species threatened by climate change, and harder to support landowners who volunteer their lands to provide critically-needed habitat.
Our fiscal year ends on September 30 — less than three weeks from today — so we’re making September EDF Membership Month and asking you to help us close the books in good standing.

We need your help to raise at least $100,000 by September 30 to pay off the last of our 2019 expenses and start our 2020 fiscal year with a positive balance sheet.
Thank you for all your advocacy and support this year,

Sam Parry
Director, Membership

P.S. While we hold the line against Trump’s attacks, finding ways to make continued progress even in the face of antagonism is more important than ever. By partnering with farmers and ranchers to restore monarch butterfly habitat … supporting indigenous communities in their fight against deforestation … and helping influential companies like Walmart and FedEx become global leaders in corporate sustainability … we’re showing every day how much power we still have to make our air and water cleaner, our climate safer and our ecosystems more resilient. Your early renewal during our EDF Membership Month will make even more progress possible in 2020.
