Team,
During my campaign, I made overhauling our broken police system a top priority. And, after the death of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others, Americans across the country took to the street to demand change.
Today we released a new episode of my podcast, Our America, zeroing in on this issue. And, you can listen to it here. [[link removed]án-castro/id1523720935]
In this episode I talk with Samuel Sinyangwe, an activist and data scientist who is working to map police violence. We discussed how police violence is not just a case of a “few bad apples,” but instead a systemic issue that must be reimagined.
When I ran for president, I called for ending qualified immunity, pushed for the demilitarization of police and put forward a plan with greater investments in alternatives to criminalization, like mental health services and rehabilitation. These are the kinds of reforms we need leaders up and down the ballot fighting for in office.
This cycle People First Future endorsed four people first policing candidates who believe we can overhaul what policing looks like in our country. xWill you join me in reimagining policing by making a contribution right now to help elect our people first policing candidates? [[link removed]]

It is time we reimagined what policing can look like in our country, create more transparency and accountability, and ensure the color of your skin doesn’t determine how you’re treated by police.
The first step is electing leaders who will hold police accountable. Make a contribution right now to help us get out the vote in these last 2 weeks to elect our people first policing candidates. [[link removed]]
Together we can build a better future for our nation.
