Today, I have a simple ask.

Never forget.

Never forget the lives lost on this day 18 years ago.
Never forget the lives endangered, left in suffering and lost over the last 18 years.

The Sept. 11th terror attacks on our Nation were one of our darkest hours, but amidst the horror, America’s courage shone brightly.

We honor the first responders, and we are grateful for the recent passage of a bill that permanently reauthorized the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. The fund supports those who fell ill after working at the World Trade Center or the Pentagon in the aftermath of the attacks. Nearly 70,000 first responders have enrolled in the program over the years.

I will always stand on the side of American courage.

Today, I join my Country in remembering who we truly are.
