Climate crisis threatens human rights

Hi John,

The climate crisis is the biggest threat to humanity and human rights. But together, we can make a change! On Friday, 20 September, millions of people around the world will be taking to the streets and demanding climate justice from their governments. When we come together, world leaders will not be able to ignore us!

Strikes are happening all over the country, will you join us?

Millions of people are already suffering from the effects of extreme weather-related events exacerbated by the climate crisis. Droughts in sub-Saharan Africa, tropical storms sweeping across Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific are all causing mass devastation. The effect of the climate crisis will only continue to grow and worsen over time if we don’t do something.

In the face of overwhelming scientific evidence, governments must act or face the biggest inter-generational human rights violation in history.

Three things you can do to help:

Join us at the strike on 20 September. Inspired by the initiative of Swedish school student Greta Thunberg, for months thousands of young people have been leading the fight. It’s time we stand in solidarity with them.
