Have you been reading the news about the California Republican Party setting up fake ballot drop boxes? It’s a very real reminder that some people are afraid of our power when we vote. However, when we put in measures to expand voting opportunities, protect voting rights, and when we all vote, we can strengthen the power of our vote and our democracy. If - like me - you’re worried about the state of our democracy, here’s something you can do to take action. Join me in supporting the Proposition 18 campaign with a donation today. In case you were not already aware, CLCV is the lead organization sponsoring Proposition 18, an initiative that would allow voters who turn 18 by a November General Election to also vote in the Primary Election that same year. You might be wondering, “Why are we doing this?” Well, this change will allow first-time voters to participate in the full election cycle and build a lifelong habit of civic participation. Now, more than ever, we need to expand voting rights and stand up to everyone who is trying to make it harder for Californians to vote. We need leadership from California’s young people on climate change, gun control, student debt, and healthcare. We need young people in positions of power if we are going to take back our political system and change what is possible. But it won’t happen unless we work together to pass Proposition 18. Can you contribute today so that we can continue to reach voters about this important initiative? If you care about our democracy, join us in supporting Proposition 18. With care, Matt Abularach-Macias P.S. Want to get the latest news from the Proposition 18 campaign? Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible. You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time. |
