Great news out of Wisconsin! The Wisconsin Election Commission ([link removed]) (WEC) has incorporated several of Verified Voting’s recommendations into their revision of the state’s procedures for auditing the 2020 election, including increasing the number of units that can be selected to audit in a municipality.

What does that mean? Large cities like Milwaukee and Madison can now check more ballots during the post-election audit process. That means the audit will be more representative of all the ballots cast, and more effective overall. And that means we’ll have a clearer picture of whether the voting records match the reported election results, in a state where having justified confidence that the reported winner is the winner could make a big difference nationwide.

It’s also a testament to what we can do when people invest in election security best practices. As little as three months ago, Wisconsin was still on our list of states where we wanted ([link removed]) to be doing more, but needed extra staff power and resources to work at the very local level where changes are often made. Generous supporters like you stepped up and made that possible - and here we are.

We’re having conversations just like the ones we’ve been having with Wisconsin officials and advocates in states like Arizona, North Carolina, and elsewhere right now - and we’re expecting a lot of calls for help and advice come November.
