This new moon our focus will be Fighting Violations of Land and Body and will be talking about reproductive justice to Indigenous womxn. Simone Senogles will be hosting this panel featuring:


Dawn Wooten: Dawn is a licensed nurse practitioner in Georgia. Dawn recently made headline news as a whistleblower : [link removed] for the forced sterilization of ICE migrants detained in Irwin Detention Center. Dawn raised her voice to speak for the treatment of women detainees.


Barbie Hurtado: Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Barbie migrated to the US with her mom and two siblings when she was 11. She has previously organized with RAICES and firmly believes that all humans should have the fundamental rights to migrate free of violence and persecution. She is also an organizer with the San Antonio International Woman’s Day March, a volunteer at the The Rape Crisis Center, and a reproductive justice activist with Planned Parenthood TX Votes. Barbie is committed and passionate about serving her community. She embraces her identity as a fat queer Xicana and understands the importance of intersectionality in her activism and organizing work.


La'Die Mansfield:  La’Die Mansfield, is a journalist, organizer, activist, strategist for social change and founder of Hello Racism. She is the Organizing Programs Director with Project South. La'Die mentored young women of the Southern Rural Black Women Initiative and was born and raised in South Georgia


Helga Garza: Helga has a vision for equity and food justice for underserved Hispanic and Native communities in her Central New Mexico region. With lived experience as a member of a marginalized Native and Indigenous community and two decades as an organic farmer, today she is Director of Agri-cultura Cooperative Network/ La Cosecha CSA (ACN).
