Trump just couldn’t fathom being muted. Indivisibles,
By now, you may have heard that, by way of Trump’s stubbornness, the second presidential debate that was scheduled for tonight has been canceled. After Trump’s COVID-19 diagnosis and the revelation that he skirted rules by not being tested before the last debate, the Commission on Presidential Debates decided a virtual format would be the safest alternative for both parties. Unsurprisingly, Trump wasn’t enthusiastic at the prospect of being muted every time he tried to interrupt Biden (or fight the moderator). Tonight’s debate would have been a town hall where each candidate’s views would be put to the test in a face-off to answer voters’ questions. Instead, we’re left with Trump and Biden participating in their own town halls -- forcing voters to split their time or forgo watching one candidate altogether. With the election well underway, it’s more important than ever for voters to feel prepared and informed -- help us reach them by signing up to phonebank today.
The good thing is, we know what to expect from Trump’s glorified rally this evening: with no one keeping him in check, he’ll be free to misrepresent Biden’s views and lie about his own failures in the process. We’re asking you to counter Trump’s misinformation campaign by simply not giving his town hall the views he desperately wants. Watching Biden’s town hall instead is the best way to tell Trump you’re not interested in entertaining his lies because your support is definitely with Biden.
Tonight is a unique opportunity to amplify Biden’s values and policies to your friends and family. Here’s what you can do to get them involved:
Trump can’t get away with not answering to the American people. We hope you tune in to Biden’s town hall and encourage your friends and family to join our movement.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
