Friends,

Last week, Trump announced he’s halting all stimulus bill negotiations until “immediately after” he wins the election.

The president is now holding the American people hostage. Withholding stimulus checks directly prolongs the struggling of millions of people who’ve lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

Trump knows this, and he’s using it to his advantage in yet another despicable attempt to steal the election. He’s been casting doubt on the integrity of the mail-in voting system for months, baselessly calling it “rigged.” More than that, he’s open about wanting to leave the election’s outcome in the hands of the Supreme Court -- which, after the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, will be more conservative than it’s been since 1950.

Trump’s gotten away with a lot in his lifetime -- but we can’t let him get away with this. Before he can get any closer to securing another four years in the White House with such undemocratic behavior, we need to remind him that Americans are watching and will make sure he faces the consequences of his actions.
