November Decision for Gen'l Convention

The Executive Council was told that the Church Center has not reached a decision on whether to postpone the 10-day 2021 General Convention, which is still scheduled to begin on the last day of June in Baltimore. Complicated negotiations are ongoing, and a decision is expected in November.

Bill Frey: 'Fully Alive'

The Rt. Rev. William Frey, one of the Church's most influential evangelicals, passed away at the age of 90 on October 11. Bishop Frey, a missionary, was the first Bishop of Guatemala until he was expelled in 1971, and went on to serve as Bishop of Colorado, where he is remembered as a man of conviction and an inspirational preacher.

Eight fellow members of Communion Partners have spoken out in support of Albany Bishop William Love, who was convicted of violating his vows by refusing to permit same-sex marriages in churches in his diocese. A sentencing hearing for Bishop Love is expected in late October.
