NEWS FROM POWER TO DECIDE
Lack of Access = Lack of Power to Decide
What would the map of the US look like if safety-net birth control providers continue to be forced out of Title X funding?
Eliminating Title X health centers would impact women in all 50 states. Approximately 19.8 million women would reside in a contraceptive desert and 4.3 million would reside in counties without access to a single health center that provides the full range of contraceptive methods.
Pill Club + Power to Decide = EC Access
Power to Decide recently partnered with Pill Club, the nation’s leading online birth control delivery and prescription service, to help make contraception available to those who need it. The goal of the Freedom to Decide partnership was to provide 5,000 units of free emergency contraception (EC) to people in need while also encouraging the public to donate to BCBenefits, Power to Decide’s contraceptive access fund. The partnership was a massive success; all 5,000 units of EC were given away in less than 24 hours!
However, we still need your help. Pill Club will match donations up to $10,000 to BCBenefits to increase birth control access for low-income women across the country. Your donation will not only provide birth control for those most in need, but your donation will be matched by Pill Club! Help us reach our $10,000 goal so we can receive the full match and help twice as many women!

Four Stars from Charity Navigator!
For the 13th year in a row, Charity Navigator, the nation's largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities, has awarded us with a 4-star rating for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. This is their highest possible rating and indicates that we adhere to best practices and execute our mission in a financially efficient way. Less than 1% of rated charities can claim this honor.
POLICY UPDATES
Help us Fight the Domestic Gag Rule!
The Title X Family Planning Program is the nation’s only federal funding dedicated to providing those most in need with free or low-cost contraceptive care. But in August, because of the devastating “domestic gag rule” many health centers have left the Title X program and the millions of Title X dollars that were used to provide low-income people with the care that they need. To date, 16 states have lost some or all of their Title X funding. An additional 17 states are losing Title X clinics. There is no indication that other clinics can step in to provide that care. As a result, those living in underserved communities and those struggling to make ends meet are finding themselves unable to afford the contraception they need. Without Title X the number of women in need of publicly funded birth control nearly triples. Help us fight back now by sending a message demanding your Senators protect Title X.

Respecting the Circle of Life
Indigenous reproductive health advocates around the country are working to address the information, access, and agency disparities that exist for Native American teens that lead to disproportionately high rates unplanned pregnancy. Advocates are supporting young Native people’s power to decide their future by using Respecting the Circle of Life, a comprehensive sexual and reproductive health program developed by the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health, in collaboration with tribal partners.
