My friend, meet Torino.

He is a victim of exploitation, torture, and abuse. His life was only worth what his evil captors could generate from his pain and suffering.

Locked inside a small cage at the back of a desolate property, Torino was lying in his own feces, with no escape in sight. He was terrified and slowly starving to death.

Torino’s grim fate was almost sealed.

Friend, I came across Torino while I was undercover investigating an illegal animal slaughter farm, in an area infamous for animal fighting and sadistic animal sacrifice.

And when I asked about him, the monster in charge of the animals banged on the cage, threatening to beat Torino with a metal pole. He told me that the dog was useless at fighting and that he’d be sold for $200 and beheaded as a sacrificial offering.

Torino looked up at me with his big, desperate eyes, and I knew I had to get him out of there, at any cost, before it was too late!

So, I did precisely that. And he continues to be my trusted companion to this day.

Sadly, Torino’s situation is all too common in South Florida.

Defenseless animals are literally thrown into secret backyard rings by scumbag criminals, cheered, and bet on while the animals fight to the death to save for their lives.

• Starved and Tormented: Dogs are denied food to enhance their aggression. They are kicked, punched, and rattled until they are at their breaking point of fighting back.
• Baited and attacked: Those who are aggressive are antagonized and trained to kill for the underground blood sport. The dogs who are too scared are used as bait for killer dogs to rip to shreds to increase their thirst for blood.
• Sacrificed: When the dogs are beaten down, fatally injured, or simply deemed worthless, like Torino was, they are tossed away and sold to be sacrificed in religious ceremonies. They are being strapped to trees, burnt alive, and beheaded for black magic.

You see, October is a peak time for dogs to be sacrificed. And ARM is in the field right now. 

We’re up against a do-or-die deadline, and we MUST replenish our emergency rescue fund to save more dogs, like Torino, from torture, abuse, and starvation.

But we can only come to the aid of as many dogs facing this unimaginable form of torture as we can afford.
