Hello —

Midnight tonight is an important fundraising deadline for my re-election campaign, so I wanted to take a moment to explain why these emails are so important.

Most elected officials spend a frustrating amount of time in cramped rooms calling donors for money. I have to do it, too — and it’s one of the most challenging parts of the job, because it’s less time spent doing the job I was elected to do.

However, donations to emails like this allow me to spend less time fundraising on the phone and more time advancing our Democratic values in Washington and doing everything I can to defeat Donald Trump and expand our House majority next month.

So, tonight’s FEC fundraising deadline truly matters, and that’s why I’m personally asking you to make a contribution today:
