Dear John,
One of our most important duties as citizens is to participate in our democracy and vote. As I always say, if you aren’t at the table, you’re on the menu. It’s time for North Texans to go to the polls, mail their ballots, and make their voices heard in this election.
Early voting began Tuesday, October 13 and will continue until Friday, October 30. Election day is Tuesday, November 3.

As a voting rights attorney, I know well the importance of voting. Last month, I joined my colleague and fellow former NFL player Congressman Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH) for a bipartisan interview with the NFL Network on the importance of voting on National Voter Registration Day. Lastly, I just want to leave you with the words of my friend, hero, and colleague Rep. John Lewis, who said that “the right to vote is precious, almost sacred.” I hope we all honor the legacies of the many Americans who fought for everyone to have the right to vote, and vote in this election.
