our pre-general FEC fundraising deadline before our very first general
election.

The deadline is in less than 12 hours from now at midnight, and once we
submit our fundraising numbers, they will be made publicly available for
everyone to see, just like our quarterly fundraising numbers.

While fundraising isn't everything in a campaign, it is a metric that many
folks take seriously when measuring the success — or potential success —
of a candidate or a political movement.

Filing a final, strong FEC report before Election Day can energize and
motivate voters to turn out this year, and tell the political
establishment that the progressive movement has true staying power.

But on the other side, a poor showing can mean lower rates of voter
turnout and increased dark money spending against progressives, which we
can't afford to have happen in such a critical election year.

I'm not taking anything for granted this November,
John. All of us must do the
hard work right now to make sure we stop Trump's second term and elect
progressives everywhere, especially in the House and the Senate — and
prove that we are here to stay.
