Dear John, After more than 30 years of observing elections, The Carter Center is turning its attention to the United States for the first time ever. With so much uncertainty surrounding the 2020 presidential election, we’re working to build confidence in the upcoming process and results for Americans across the nation. As a country, we take pride in our democratic process—and this year’s election is unlike any other. The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting how Americans vote. It’s left many of us wondering what’s safest or if we should worry about our votes being counted. Despite conflicting information you may hear, we have safe and reliable options for voting in the 2020 election. We know Americans have questions and need answers, which is why we created a video to explain voting options and the safeguards in place during this—and every—election. Participation is part of being an American—no matter who wins or loses.
Help others rediscover their trust in our system and find the right voting option by sharing this video (see sample social media post below). However you choose to vote, know that your voice is heard and your vote is being counted. Sincerely, Paige Alexander Chief Executive Officer The Carter Center P.S. Please share on Social Media!
