John, you may know me as a member of the U.S. Senate, or the former governor of Virginia. A handful of you might know me as the former mayor of Richmond. And I’ll bet some of you know me as the vice-presidential nominee in 2016. But between those roles, you may not know that I proudly served as chair of the DNC.

What I learned while serving as chair of our party is so important: Hundreds of Democratic candidates -- from the very top of the ticket down to the local level -- rely on our national party for vital tools and resources. Many wouldn't otherwise have access to cutting-edge campaign tech and data like what the DNC provides. This year is no exception, and with less than three weeks until November 3 and with tonight being the final FEC deadline of this election, now is the time to make sure crucial initiatives like the DNC Data Warehouse and IWillVote.com are fully funded.

Democratic candidates nationwide are counting on the donations to our party that folks like you are able to make before this huge milestone, and it'll take all hands on deck to reach this fundraising goal. That's why I have to ask:

Will you chip in $7 to the DNC before tonight at midnight to ensure that Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats down the ballot have what they need in these last three weeks? This is the final FEC fundraising deadline before the election, John, and Democrats nationwide need your support.

I couldn’t be prouder of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and I’m looking forward to serving alongside the Democrats who are going to flip the Senate and restore decency, honesty, and bipartisanship to our Congress. Our party is in an incredibly strong position thanks to people like you, John, but we can’t afford to let up right as we near the end of this historically important election.

So, John, I have to ask again: Will you chip in $7 to the DNC before tonight’s FEC deadline? Your $7 -- or whatever makes sense for your budget -- will go directly toward powering our candidates through this last, most critical stretch of the race.
