Hello team,
Senate hearings began this week for the confirmation of President Trump’s nominee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, to the Supreme Court. The hearings help inform us of the risks posed to the American people should Barrett be confirmed.
The first risk is to our essential right to quality, affordable health care. Just one week after the election, on November 10, the Court will hear a case that could dismantle the Affordable Care Act and rip away protections from millions of Americans with preexisting conditions.
Our best chance at saving the ACA is to vote in this election. Every last voter must perform their civic duty, for our families and our democracy. We must elect representatives who will fight for our essential rights, not strip them away.
We must also take a stand now and demand the Supreme Court preserve the ACA. Sign your name:
This Supreme Court nominee appears in favor of repealing the ACA, which would leave more than 20 million Americans uninsured – in the middle of a public health crisis, in addition to the over six million that have lost coverage due to the pandemic.
Those who have tested positive for the coronavirus would likely be included in the list of millions more who are deemed to have a preexisting condition and added to the long list of people unable to obtain affordable health care coverage.
We, as voters and keepers of our democracy, have to speak up for the protection of our rights, and let Washington know how important it is that we do not lose the health care coverage that has saved countless lives.
Friend, please use your voice and sign your name next to mine to demand that the Supreme Court does not rule to dismantle the ACA and strip health care from millions.
Early voting is already underway in Texas and Election Day is in 20 days. This is the time we must all actively take part in our democracy. Please, take a stand and vote!
Thank you,
Henry
