  • What are the known unknowns of Russiagate?
    Nearly four years later, we know a lot about the "serious performance failures" of the FBI and other federal agencies. Hundreds of figures in the media, politics, federal law enforcement, and federal intelligence were involved, wittingly and unwittingly, in the Trump-Russia collusion hoax. Yet at least three significant mysteries remain. CRC's Ken Braun continues his tour of the story here.
  • What do Bermuda, a billionaire, and Obamacare have in common?
    Atlantic Philanthropies, a billionaire's private foundation based in Bermuda, has spent tens of millions in "dark money" influencing American politics. Among its notable political ventures is Health Care for America Now, which is credited with almost single-handedly securing passage of Obamacare. Another Atlantic Philanthropies venture will end its five-year mission: supporting targeted voter registration designed to transform red states into blueish-purple states.   • Why is an obscure Labor Department regulation important?
    CRC recently submitted public comments in favor of a proposed regulation that will protect pension plan beneficiaries. It's needed to combat a growing wave of political activism that threatens to subvert pension plans by enlisting them to support the latest fads in "socially conscious" investment. Our Robert Stilson presents CRC's comments and discusses their significance here.
  • Are the richest Americans backing the Left or Right?
    Forbes recently released its 39th annual Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans. Some back-of-the-envelope calculations, based on what is known about the ideological leanings of the most wealthy and their philanthropic giving, suggests conservative philanthropists are outnumbered and outspent. CRC's Michael E. Hartmann crunches the numbers here.
