As you may know, the majority of contributions to my re-election campaign come from messages like this one. I know they can be a bit pesky sometimes, but I promise they make a huge difference for our team.
But something has happened in the last few days. According to my finance staffers, fewer people are opening these messages and our fundraising is down 32% compared to this time last month.
I don't want to alarm you, but with only 20 days to go in this election, that's a serious problem for our campaign — especially with Donald Trump laser-focused on flipping Minnesota red.
The truth is, Trump and his allies can count on right-wing billionaires to cut outrageous checks to dark money super PACs to win, but I refuse to play that game. I want to win the right way.
So, if we're going to hold our own in the final weeks against all these attacks and win this thing on November 3, we need to catch back up on our goals — quickly. And if we want to do that it will come from messages like these, because I am never going to beg right-wing megadonors to start a super PAC for me.
