The growing competition with China presents both risks and opportunities for the United States. The global shift to 5G is proving to be a key battleground, and it is one in which the United States has more advantages than many observers realize.

Please join the Center for American Progress on October 14, 2020, for a discussion on China and the 5G challenge. The discussion will begin with Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI), who will share his views on U.S.-China strategic competition and the latest steps the U.S. Congress is taking to help American companies and workers compete at full strength in 5G and other high-tech sectors. CAP will then host a discussion among leading American 5G experts, including some of the great American innovators generating new approaches to 5G that could revolutionize the market. This event will detail the steps Congress is taking to make that happen and what needs to come next.

Wednesday, October 14, 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. ET

In conjunction with the event, CAP will be releasing the report “There is a solution to the Huawei Challenge” on October 14.

Closed-captioned-enabled video will be posted following the conclusion of the event.
