We’re part of the End Child Poverty coalition, which brings together different
organisations to campaign with one goal: to end child poverty.

You may have seen that the coalition has released new local child poverty
statistics today and they show the high levels of child poverty even before the
pandemic. Child poverty is high across the UK, and the north east of England has
experienced the greatest rise in poverty over the past five years. We all know
it’s not right that poverty can deny children the opportunity to thrive, live
healthy lives, do well at school and realise their ambitions for the future. We
need a plan to tackle it.

poverty. We need to keep pushing so that child poverty is tackled with urgency.
