Trump's Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett told the Senate Judiciary
Committee today that "she would not discriminate on the basis of sexual
preference."

As the Internet exploded, Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii schooled
Judge Barrett: "Sexual preference is an offensive and outdated term. It is
used by anti-LGBTQ activists to suggest that sexual orientation is a
choice. It is not. Sexual orientation is a key part of a person's
identity."

This is still one more reason why it is so important for Democrats to win
the Senate and strip Republican senators of their power to confirm bigots
to the highest court in the land.

donations to Democratic Senate candidates, many of whom are are on the
verge of DEFEATING sitting Republican senators?

Senator Hirono continued, telling Judge Barrett: "If it is your view that
sexual orientation is merely a preference, The LGBTQ community should be
rightly concerned whether you would uphold their constitutional right to
marry. I don't think your use of the term 'sexual preference' was an
accident."
