Friend, breaking Supreme Court news: the Court just gave Trump the green light to shut down the 2020 Census early.
That means if lawmakers don’t respond immediately -- our most vulnerable communities will lose out on political representation and vital funding for things like schools, fire trucks, and COVID-19 relief.
Legislation to save the 2020 Census already has bipartisan support and enough votes to pass an up-or-down vote. Can you add your name to help ramp up the pressure on the Senate immediately?
This is just the administration’s latest attempt to intimidate, exclude, and erase immigrant families and young people out of the 2020 Census. It’s an egregious attack on the integrity of our democracy -- coming at a time when the principle of fair representation is already under siege.
That’s why it’s absolutely critical that you and I speak up in this moment -- and stop this dangerous scheme to rig the 2020 Census.
The Supreme Court has given Trump and his administration the go-ahead to halt the census count almost a full month early -- with millions still uncounted.
If you agree we need a full, fair, and accurate Census count, please join me in speaking out right now >>
Remember, this is part of a years-long effort by far-right political operatives to rig our system and silence millions of Americans. We’ve uncovered documents from the GOP’s top redistricting strategist, Thomas Hofeller, that outline this exact strategy.
We must go all out -- right here and right now -- to protect the 2020 Census from political manipulation.
And, we have a real shot to win here -- Republican senators need to know that their own states could lose House seats and crucial funding if the census count is inaccurate. We must make it clear that the American people expect them to put the integrity of our democracy before Trump’s partisan schemes.
Add your name to demand that GOP senators support the 2020 Census Deadline Extensions Act (S. 4571) -- which would extend the census count through October 31st -- and insist that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell holds a floor vote on the bill.
We don’t have a moment to waste, Friend. This bipartisan legislation would save the U.S. Census -- and passing it just got far, far more urgent.
If we can get it to the Senate floor, it has the votes to pass. And the best way to make that happen is to get even more Republican senators on the record in support -- which depends on you and me speaking up right now.
Thanks for your advocacy,
