Hi, John -- If you were one of the DOZENS of people who gave when I wrote this morning, thank you for all that you do and for believing in this fight to ensure every American has access to the health care they need.

While the president and his closest allies, like my opponent Lee Zeldin, push a narrative that people should not "be afraid" of a deadly pandemic, the Republicans are working in the shadows to destroy the ACA and leave millions of people with pre-existing conditions without access to the care they need during a public health crisis.

Let me be clear: very few Americans will receive the kind of around-the-clock high-quality care Donald Trump received when he was diagnosed, unless they, like him, are wealthy and well-connected.

We need leaders who will fight to make sure every American has access to high-quality, affordable health care. We need leaders who will lower the minimum age for Medicare and allow younger people and their employers to buy into this crucial program. And we need leaders who will protect access to care for people with pre-existing conditions, including diabetes, asthma, and cancer.

The Republican approach to health care has been to make cuts to the programs in the Affordable Care Act and attempt to repeal it without proposing any alternative. That approach is unacceptable.

My opponent, Lee Zeldin, has supported these reckless efforts to repeal the ACA and take coverage away from 23 million hard-working Americans -- including 71,000 Americans here in the 1st Congressional District -- 15 times.

THIS is a critical fight, and it’s one I will take very seriously when we flip this seat on November 3. But right now, we have work to do before I can take this fight to Washington.

My team and I have 21 days left to make sure voters know about my platform and why having a Ph.D. scientist as a representative will benefit them and families across Suffolk County.
