46 million turkeys are killed every Thanksgiving. But you can save one.
Adopt a Turkey

Dear John,

Thanksgiving and turkeys have become synonymous—46 million are killed just for the holiday alone. Sadly, the way we’ve been taught to celebrate is harming animals, our communities, and the earth.

At Farm Sanctuary, we inspire people to think about turkeys differently. Through rescue and public education, we demonstrate that turkeys are emotional, sentient creatures who crave human affection, even after being severely mistreated in the factory farming system.

But we need your help. Will you “adopt” a turkey this year?

For a one-time donation of $35, you can symbolically adopt any of the five members of this year’s featured flock. In return, you’ll receive a digital certificate with your new adopted friend’s photo and story—and you can opt in for a print certificate delivered in the mail. You’ll also get a one-year subscription to Sanctuary, our biannual print magazine.

Meet the turkeys you can "adopt" this year:

Jackie

Jackie "The Queen"

Jackie was anonymously left at our New York Sanctuary when she was a baby, having been debeaked at a factory farm.

Adopt Jackie
Ferris

Ferris "The Hotshot"

Ferris was rescued from a feed store, after being shipped through the mail at just a few days old.

Adopt Ferris
Sandy

Sandy “The Sweetheart”

Sandy survived a fire; after being brought to us with a painful foot infection, she’s now healed completely and loves to lounge in people’s laps.

Venus

Venus “The Champion”

Venus was rescued from a factory farm after being debeaked. Despite her history, she’s grown to be affectionate and trusting.

Adopt Venus
Tutu

Tutu “The Charmer”

Tutu was rescued from a live poultry market in New York City and came to us bruised and scraped from the slaughterhouse where she was raised. Today, she is safe, with access to fresh air and green pasture.

Flock

"The Flock"

Or, for a one-time donation of $150, you can adopt our whole flock: an invaluable contribution that enables us to provide costly veterinary care for the special needs that our animals present.

Adopt "The Flock"

As the nation’s oldest farm animal sanctuary, we have been pursuing bold solutions to end animal agriculture and foster just and compassionate living for over 30 years. We continue to be moved by the resilience of our rescued residents, as well as the generosity of our community.

Please consider this opportunity to add a healthy dose of compassion to your holiday celebrations. Thank you!

Love,

Farm Sanctuary
