Dear Ward 8 Residents,

This has been an interesting year, to say the least. We have endured some unforeseen lows managing the public health pandemic however, we continue to battle the hurdles along the way.

This year, as we move into the holiday season, I am pleased to announce that we will continue the holiday tradition by hosting our annual Ward 8 Wide Turkey Giveaway for Thanksgiving. To make this possible, we are calling on the support of the small business community, non-profit organizations and government agencies. We have a goal to feed 1,500 families this year.

All organizations that are looking to become a sponsor can CLICK HERE. For residents looking to sign-up to receive a turkey, stay tuned, more details are forthcoming.

Be well and be safe,

Trayon White, Sr.
Councilmember, Ward 8

Around the Council
On October 5th, Councilmember Trayon White introduced the Voter Mobile App Amendment Act of 2020. This is an amendment to the District of Columbia Election Code of 1955 for the purpose of clarifying that voting by mobile application in elections is permitted.

This measure is not intended to take effect prior to the November 2020 election. Instead, it is being proposed as an alternate means of voting for District residents in future elections.
