In a presidential election year, it's no surprise that most of the country is focused on the very top of the ticket.

But we can't lose sight of the races that are further down the ballot, because the outcomes in these elections will determine so much of the policy that impacts our daily lives. It has never been more important that we're winning key legislative seats.

So we're proud and excited, because today we're unveiling our largest list of endorsements in 2020: Battleground Texas' Blue Stars.

We are this close to flipping the Texas State House this year and ushering in a brand new era in Texas politics. Across the state our candidates are bold, they're inspiring, and they're going to actually get things done for working families in Texas.

There's Akilah Bacy, running in red-to-blue, House District 138. Akilah is a local attorney who has been a fierce advocate for her community, including pro-bono immigration work for children seeking asylum,and she is going to make an incredible representative.

And Sharon Hirsch, running in House District 66, where she's lived with her family for nearly 25 years. Sharon has dedicated her life to helping Texas' kids, and she's running because she knows that they need a fighter in Austin.

These leaders are the future, and we're proud to have them on our Blue Star list this year. And the good news is, there are many more. In total we're endorsing 20 candidates this year, in nearly every corner of the state.

We have just nine seats to flip to take back the House, and we're going to get it done with these candidates.

From now until Election Day, we're going to be doing everything we can to make sure they get elected, running a targeted strategy that gets voters registered and out to the polls (we just passed our 40,000 voter registration goal!).
