Friend—Here at Team SJ, we’ve been focused on running a positive, forward-looking campaign. And we’ve been working hard over the past year making sure voters in the 53rd District hear Sara’s plans and her vision for our country.

Our opponent, on the other hand, has reveled in running a negative campaign -- the type we’ve grown unfortunately accustomed to under Trump’s leadership. So we were disappointed, though hardly surprised, when our opponent’s latest ad hit the airwaves, making false claims about Sara and her policies. 

Let’s be clear: stooping to the level of using Trump campaign tactics to spread lies in hopes of getting quick campaign cash hurts CA-53. It hurts our democracy. Our opponent’s ad misleads voters, plain and simple. KPBS and the Union-Tribune agreed, but our opponent refuses to take the ad off the air.

With only 21 days until Election Day, we need to act fast to make sure every voter in our district hears the true and accurate information they need to cast their ballot. We need to stand up and fight back. Please pitch in and send a message: false attacks will not work in CA-53.
