When we started our work in 1991, there were less than 50 openly LGBTQ elected officials nationwide. Now, thousands have been elected -- and we have more than 500 serving right now.
Our research proves that LGBTQ elected officials humanize our lives, impact legislative debates, and influence lawmaker colleagues to support equality. When our people are in the halls of power, they can shut down extremists who aim to roll back our rights.
From a city councilmember in suburban Kansas to Oregon Governor Kate Brown and U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, our endorsed candidates change the conversation. And this election cycle, we aim to elect more LGBTQ people than ever before so we can fight anti-equality efforts at all levels of government. But we need your help.
