Friends,

It's hard to focus on anything other than the upcoming federal election. But something else happens on November 3: we have an unprecedented chance to vote for renewable energy and transparency.

In 19 districts, voters can support 100% renewable energy. In 16 districts, they can support transparency of committee votes, helping us hold our leaders accountable if they talk a big game on climate but vote against strong action.

We are targeting chair of the Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy committee Tom Golden's district, which includes Lowell and Chelmsford, by dropping door hangers on thousands of doors. A win in Golden's district would be a big win for renewable energy in the MA State House. You can sign up for one of our next lit drops here.

Tell Legislators to Invest In Our Recovery: It's time to put the people first. 70+ percent of Massachusetts voters agree: We must invest in our public services that improve public health, grow our economy, and reduce racial inequalities. Rather than implement state budget cuts that would worsen the effects of the economic downturn and harm our recovery, legislators must raise new revenue from profitable corporations and their shareholders! Burma Shave Standouts Draw Attention to Pending Climate Legislation: Taking inspiration from the roadside advertisements for Burma-Shave in the 1930s, teams of volunteers are standing on busy commuter routes, each member holding one of a series of signs that, combined, spell out a message. Activists hope that their visibility will cause people to pay more attention to the climate omnibus bill currently in committee.
