Dear Friend,
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, over 40% of Black-owned businesses have closed. Eight times as many women have dropped out of the workforce as men — many of them Black and Latina. These numbers are staggering.
Collectively, we all continue to feel the effects of the pandemic — not only as it threatens our health, but also our nation’s economic future.
That’s why President Clinton is launching a new series focused on economic recovery. On Tuesday, October 20, at 1p.m. ET, President Clinton and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth will kick off a series of conversations to address the racial and economic disparities in America, focused on building a better future for everyone.
The first event, Small Businesses, Big Opportunities, will feature Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga, as well as other distinguished speakers. A tentative agenda is included below, be sure to register here.
- 1:00-1:10 p.m. — Opening remarks by President Bill Clinton
- 1:10-1:30 p.m. — Conversation between President Bill Clinton and Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga
- 1:30-2:00 p.m. — Small Businesses, Big Opportunities panel discussion featuring:
