In a few seconds, I will ask you to add a donation to our campaign for United States Senate in North Carolina ahead of the last FEC fundraising deadline before Election Day. I only need a moment of your time to explain why this request is so important, especially today.

The truth is, North Carolinians are being bombarded with TV ad buys trying to boost Thom Tillis and sink our campaign. Facebook feeds are polluted with digital ads trying to swing this election Thom Tillis’ way. And almost every penny of it is bankrolled by Mitch McConnell’s corporate donor network.

Meanwhile, I’m focused on the people of North Carolina — fighting to combat this public health crisis, protect health care, support our teachers, and so much more. That’s what this campaign is all about.

Together, we will replace a Senator who doesn’t stand up and fight for working families — who caves in to McConnell and the corporate interests in Washington. Who would rather work for his wealthy campaign donors than do right by the people he was elected to serve. And who no doubt will be begging for Donald Trump’s help when he returns to North Carolina on Thursday.

I won’t sugarcoat it: Winning this election will not be easy. There are a whole lot of outside interests who would love nothing more than to see us fail. But right now, our campaign is still working to reach our fundraising goal ahead of the final FEC deadline of this election — which means we need to stay focused.
