If you’ve been keeping up with the news surrounding Trump and Mitch McConnell’s SCOTUS pick, Amy Coney Barrett, you probably already know what I’m about to tell you: She’s bad. 

The stakes couldn't be higher. On November 10th, SCOTUS is set to debate the Affordable Care Act and Barrett has indicated she intends to strike it down, robbing millions of Americans of healthcare. In the middle of a pandemic, one that is currently ravaging our country, our access to healthcare is under threat. But here’s the real kicker... Republicans are forcing this confirmation hearing to continue even as members of their own party are sick with COVID. All other Senate business has stopped!

The whole hearing was like watching a really cringe episode of reality TV... except it’s our political reality. But do you know what I do in moments like this? I remember the impact that the Stand Up America organizing team is making and it reminds me that every single person (like you!) can make a huge difference in the outcomes of this election. We have the power to defeat Trump this fall and fight back against his dark vision for our country if we take action right now.

The organizing team is a group of nearly 6,000 volunteers who text and call eligible voters to answer questions about how to vote during a totally unprecedented year. Every day we have real conversations with hundreds of thousands of voters, answering their questions and helping them cast their ballots. When everything else feels out of control, it’s a great feeling to play a small part in trying to make things better.

We’ve been reaching out to between 300,000 and 600,000 voters in states like Arizona, Texas, Florida, and Michigan every single day, making sure they’re registered and have what they need to vote. Just last week, I watched one volunteer help someone register for the first time and another who helped a lapsed voter make a plan to vote early. 

Trump won by a few thousand votes in some states in 2016. The texts you send over the next few weeks could make all the difference in this election.

So, Amy Coney Barrett is definitely the worst, but don’t despair -- organize! Let’s get to work and flip the Senate so that conservatives can’t pack our courts any longer. Click here to get started.
