Friend,
Yesterday,
my colleagues and I all returned to Washington after a month spent
meeting with constituents in our home districts. At least, that’s how
Democrats spent their August Recess. I’m not sure what Republicans
were doing, since by and large they refused to hold town halls back
home.
This refusal is nothing new -- in
the past, I've even held a town hall in Devin Nunes' district because
he wouldn't do it himself. How can the GOP fight for their
constituents if they won't even listen to what they have to say?
That’s right: They can’t. Will
you support my re-election today so that I can keep showing up,
listening, and fighting for you?
If
Republicans ever work up the courage to listen to their constituents,
they may not like what they hear: A growing number of Americans think
Congress should do more to reduce gun violence and address climate
change; they believe that corruption is getting worse; and
they really don’t want to see the government take away their
healthcare. The GOP can try to ignore us, but I know that we’ve got
the people on our side. Can
you chip in $200, $100, or $50 today
to help me prove it?
Best, Ted
