John,

I want to share some exciting news with you!

Today, we stood by Gov. Phil Murphy as he announced that — effective immediately — New Jersey will stop doing business with any gun manufacturers or retailers that fail to follow common-sense public safety standards.

What’s the inspiration for those standards? Brady’s Gun Dealer Code of Conduct.

Governor Phil Murphy Signing the Bill

We created the Brady Gun Dealer Code of Conduct to establish responsible business practices for the gun industry. These standards are especially important because federal oversight of the gun industry is severely lacking. As of today, New Jersey becomes the first state in the country to set such a high standard for gun manufacturers and retailers — and it’s based on Brady’s work.

Bottom line: If the federal government won’t act, we can — and will — step in and create change ourselves. It’s in our hands.

This is a BIG victory, and it wouldn’t have happened without Brady. John, I need to ask: if you support our ongoing work and real grassroots victories like this, can you make a contribution today and help fund our lifesaving work?

Even as Congress drags its feet on gun safety, we continue to make progress. Our work in New Jersey represents the kind of multifaceted solutions we need in order to end gun violence, using both policy and culture change alike. We know that more states can follow in New Jersey’s steps and create the change we need.

If you agree, please take a moment and help fund our fight!

Best,

Kris Brown
