It’s not an exaggeration to say that this is one of the most competitive -- and expensive -- races in the nation. Just take a look at these numbers from the Virginia Public Access Project, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that tracks political ad spending:

We aren’t even halfway through the month, and my opponent former Republican Congressman Scott Taylor and his dark money allies have already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars against me.
