You may have heard our Rise Against Hunger staff say, “Rice Goes Last” at meal packaging events — but when it came to supporting communities around the world in the midst of the health crisis, rice came first. World Food Day is around the corner, and we’re hoping that you will join us as we put rice first, again! In April, Rise Against Hunger announced our COVID-19 Relief & Resilience Plan to meet the increased needs of at-risk communities during the global health crisis. Through three interventions, this plan provides continued support to 2 million people we serve around the world. Intervention #1 focuses on the distribution of Rise Against Hunger meals, along with bulk quantities of rice from our inventory, to partners in 15 countries. To continue our efforts to reach families around the globe, volunteers across the U.S. will be packaging 100,000 meals in honor of World Food Day. Tune in on Friday, October 16, at 2 p.m. ET for a special LIVE event! |
