When we first launched this campaign, the political pundits largely ignored our race, saying Minnesota’s Senate election wouldn’t be competitive — that my seat was safe. Well, they were wrong.

A few months into this election, Donald Trump announced his plan to pour millions of dollars into Minnesota. He followed through and we faced mountains of GOP resources to flip our state red.

Then, two consecutive polls showed our once-safe-race in a dead heat. We were statistically tied with Trump’s hand-picked candidate — right-wing extremist Jason Lewis — and a major election forecaster shifted our race from “Lean Democrat” to “Toss-Up.”

All of a sudden, our campaign faced a barrage of very public attacks from Trump and his top campaign surrogates — who have made return trips to Minnesota to rile up the right-wing base almost every week! To make matters worse, two GOP dark money groups with close ties to Mitch McConnell spent nearly $1 million to sink our campaign. It was a lot all at once.

Look, anything could happen in these final days, but I believe in my heart of hearts that the power of the Republican establishment in Washington and their dark money network is nothing compared to a whole lot of people (like you!) standing up for what’s right.
