Hello! I hope you are well and hanging in there during this crazy time. At the National Constitution Center, we know learning is taking place in a variety of environments, especially virtually, and field trips to museums and other cultural organizations may not be an option for many schools. We are dedicated to continuing to provide you and your students with learning experiences and support, which is why we are launching Virtual Museum Experiences, designed and customized just for your class! Our Virtual Museum Experiences put your students in the driver’s seat and give them a behind the scenes look at our exhibits. The Center’s NEW Virtual Museum Experience includes signature features of the on-site experience. Highlights include LIVE guided tours of our main exhibit, The Story of We the People; the iconic Signers’ Hall; the Civil War and Reconstruction exhibit, featuring over 100 artifacts; and our newest exhibit, The 19th Amendment: How Women Won the Vote, each followed by a live Q&A so your students can engage directly with our museum educators. What you need to know: Price: $150 per tour for up to 300 students Book 3 tours and get 1 free! Duration: 45 to 60 minutes Grade Level: 4th – 12th Grade Students can join from the classroom or from home through a secure Zoom link, accessible from a home computer, laptop, or phone. Live Guided Tour options include: The Story of We the People Available Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT One of our museum educators will guide you and your students through our 250-year constitutional timeline, as you journey from the period before the American Revolution right up to present day. Signers’ Hall Available Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT We’ll guide you and your students through the historic year of 1787 as we explore the events that led up to the Constitutional Convention, the debates between the delegates, and the compromises that led to the signing of the Constitution on September 17, 1787. Civil War and Reconstruction: The Battle for Freedom and Equality Available Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT Explore the Center’s compelling exhibit, Civil War and Reconstruction: The Battle for Freedom and Equality, and discover how constitutional clashes over slavery set the stage for the Civil War, and how the nation transformed the Constitution after the war during the Reconstruction period, taking a particularly close look at the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. The 19th Amendment: How Women Won the Vote Available Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT A National Constitution Center museum educator will lead you and your students through our newest exhibit about the 19th Amendment!
