Dear John,

Last night, the government chose to block guarantees of our standards.

Conservative MPs voted against proper scrutiny of the food we import and the trade deals we make.

This makes it even more important we get the deal with Europe we were promised, as the UK approaches the October deadline.

Ahead of this week's crunch European Council summit, over 8,000 people were asked whether they thought a no deal exit was a good thing. The conclusion was overwhelming – two thirds of Brits said no to no deal. <[link removed]>

It is time for the Prime Minister to make good on his promise at last year’s election and bring home a deal. Write to Boris Johnson, and urge him to reach a full agreement with Europe. Send a message now

A clear and comprehensive agreement with Europe means we wouldn’t need to compromise our food and our environment for a back-up deal with the USA.

It’s up to us to decide what kind of country we want to be. Will we continue to work with ally who shares our high standards and our commitment to a green recovery? Or will lower our standards to keep Trump’s trade team happy?

Most of us know the answer. In every region in the country, British people thought leaving the transition without a plan would be a mistake. In Scotland, opposition to no deal jumped to around four-fifths. <[link removed]>

Best for Britain’s new polling, covered over the weekend in Business Insider, confirms a no deal is not what the public wants. And as our domestic impact report <[link removed]> shows, it’s not what the needs.

Time is rapidly running out – but a great deal with Europe is still possible if we act now. Write to the Prime Minister and tell him to keep his promise to the British people. There's no mandate for no deal.Send a message to Boris Johnson now.

European Council summit is this Thursday. It could very well be the make or break meeting ahead of the 31st October deadline to reach a deal.

This week could be the decider – make sure you’ve sent your message before its too late. <[link removed]>
