John,
Since we launched our October 17th march, a lot has changed.
Just over a week after we announced our plans to mobilize in D.C. and across the country, Trump and a slew of staff in D.C. tested positive for COVID-19 after a super-spreader event at the White House.
Since this news, we’ve taken even more precautions to make sure everyone is safe on October 17th. While all of the research from protests this summer shows that outdoor protests did not cause increases in COVID-19 cases, we want to be extra careful.1

We know that our movement takes coronavirus very seriously and is very enthusiastic about masks, social distancing, and hand sanitizing. That’s why everyone is required to wear a mask and stay six feet apart.
We want to make sure that everyone is safe and comfortable – and we know that having extra masks and hand sanitizer throughout the march will be essential.
We understand that some people may be unable to participate in-person this Saturday, but there are many ways you can take action right now. Whether that’s joining a march or signing up for our virtual text-banking event, we trust that you will make the best decisions for yourself and your community.
We also know that this moment calls for our movement to be in the streets – and that we can do it safely as we saw this summer. But we need your help to make this march as safe as possible.
Women’s Marchers understand what’s at stake in this moment. From the illegitimate Supreme Court confirmation hearings underway, to Election Day in just a few short weeks, we know our collective action is needed. The fate of our democracy rests in our hands and our fundamental right to reproductive freedom hangs in the balance.
We’re seeing and feeling this urgency and excitement, John. It’s the reason there are over 363+ events planned in all 50 states. It’s why nearly 10,000 people have RSVP-ed to join us in D.C.
You don’t want to miss out.
Rachel
