I’ve been paying close attention to two Long Island campaigns, in New York’s First and Second Districts. 

 

My team gives me daily updates on each of these campaigns because I know that scientist Nancy Goroff and combat veteran Jackie Gordon are exactly the kind of leaders that can flip these districts Red to Blue and make a difference in Washington.

Nancy is up against one of the most shameless supporters of Donald Trump. He’s been named Don Jr.’s MAGA Candidate of the Week and a member of Trump’s Impeachment Defense Squad. Jackie, on the other hand, is running to replace nearly 30-year incumbent Republican Pete King in one of the only open seats on the House map -- and she’s an excellent fit for this swing district.

 

Both Nancy and Jackie are in for tough races though, and already GOP groups like the NRCC, the CLF, and the AAN are aggressively targeting these Red to Blue districts. John, if the outcome of these races weren’t so important, I wouldn’t be putting 110% behind these campaigns.

 

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to wake up on November 4 wishing I had done more.
