Donald Trump is threatening to use the Republican majority of state congressional delegations to hand himself the election, even if he loses the popular vote and fails to earn 270 votes in the Electoral College.
His success would mean another four years of kids in cages, another four years of tax breaks for the rich and no relief for the rest, another four years of attacks on our safety net programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and another four years of dismantling our democracy.
We can stop Trump’s plan -- all we need to do is gain control of four state delegations, which would be enough for a majority. Then we could block the GOP’s attempt to block the election’s rightful outcome and ensure the voices of the people are heard.
But right now, Republicans are favored to keep control.
That can’t continue. We need to win the key congressional races necessary to flip the GOP’s delegations, gain a true progressive majority in the House, and stop Trump’s attempt at a second term. But right now, we’re $4,329 short of our grassroots fundraising goal.
