Outrageous, John. That’s the only way I can describe the rally Trump just held in Florida.
You already know Trump said a lot of divisive, awful things tonight. But even worse is what was unsaid: That by holding a rally mere days after being diagnosed with coronavirus and with little social distancing, Trump has learned nothing after months of mismanagement that’s left over 215,000 dead.
I shudder to think what would happen were Trump to win another four years. And John, the truth is that what happens in the next 48 hours will have a significant impact on our fight to ensure that doesn’t happen. Our party is facing its final FEC deadline of the cycle on Wednesday, and what we can raise before then will be among the last funds we can spend on messaging, voter outreach, and turnout in these crucial, final weeks of voting. That’s why, before Trump leaves Florida, I’m asking you to do something powerfully important:
If you can, please rush $7 to the One-Term President Fund now -- while there’s still time to ramp up the voter outreach and turnout we’ll need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
Trump is holding irresponsible events like tonight’s because he knows that this close to Election Day, everything matters. That’s especially true for Florida. Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight says that Florida is the second-most likely tipping point for deciding the winner of this election -- which means we cannot let any of the Trump campaign’s efforts there, like tonight’s rally, go unmet.
The One-Term President Fund is powered entirely by grassroots Democrats like you. Its strength directly affects the amount of voter outreach, education, and mobilization we can do in these final few weeks -- so trust me when I say that everything we can put into it before Wednesday’s FEC deadline, the last of this cycle, will go a long way toward determining the outcome of the race.
Chip in $7, or whatever you can afford, before Trump leaves Florida. Together, we can put a stop to this and elect Democrats up and down the ballot -- in Florida and across the country.
In unity,
Tom

P.S. Right now, FiveThirtyEight has Joe Biden’s polling average at 49% in Florida. I don’t know about you, John, but that’s too close for comfort for me. Can you chip in $7 to the One-Term President Fund so we can do everything we can to move the needle for Joe Biden and Democrats nationwide in these final few weeks?
