John, can we be honest with you about the situation we’re in?

This movement is 0% corporate power, 100% people-power. The majority of our support comes in from small-dollar donations – $3, $10, or even $27 at a time. And we’re incredibly proud of that.

So far this cycle, the top three professions our donors come from are: Retired, education, and the civil service. That’s what happens when you fight for a future that works for everyone.

But we’re facing a challenge. We’re trying to build a small-dollar movement at the same time as a Presidential election dominates the attention of folks from coast to coast. If you can afford it right now, will you rush a donation? Even $3 makes a big difference.

Now, don’t get us wrong. Defeating Donald Trump is an existential priority to our democracy – which is why our campaign spent weeks registering voters and organizing to get-out-the-vote not just in our district, but across the entire state.

But down-ballot campaigns matter too. Right now, Cori’s up against two candidates who openly embrace white nationalism – one even identifies as a Proud Boy, the organization that’s gained notoriety for violent behavior at protests, xenophobic rhetoric, and fascist ideals.

A small victory against campaigns that represent a rejection of every one of our core beliefs is not enough. Anything less than a commanding win for Cori is a message to these groups that they should continue their agitating and organizing for hatred. We can’t let that happen.
