Today was the first day of the Senate Judiciary Committee's hearings on the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett for the United States Supreme Court.

The Republicans on the panel led the hearing with arrogance, hubris, and just plain stupidity:

Senator Mike Lee showed up, after testing positive for COVID-19, not wearing a mask, putting the entire Senate, Judge Coney Barrett, and her family at risk.

Chairman Lindsay Graham kicked off the proceedings by saying the hearing was to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Which if that is his feeling, we should skip these hearings altogether.

Senator Cornyn hailed the Judge while lobbing softball questions her way.

The Republicans have made it clear that this entire process is a sham. Mitch McConnell knows that Donald Trump is about to lose, and his Senate majority is slipping through his fingers. This is McConnell's last chance to cement his conservative legacy on America.
