Today we recognize Indigenous People’s Day across the country.

This is a day to celebrate our communities, our heritage, and the constant forward motion of progress. Today we can reflect on our history and work toward a kinder, safer future for all.

I affirm my commitment to people of tribal nations, so many of whom have been left out of the conversation. In everything we do, we must consider indigenous people and the unique needs of tribal communities. We must move toward justice.
